This postage stamp is over 120 years old. It was released at the Pan American Expo in 1901.

The Expo was a world’s fair in Buffalo, New York. It showcased the development of the Western Hemisphere.

The fair was 350 acres large, lasted for seven months, and was attended by over 8 million people from around the world.

On it is an engraving of a coal powered train, with a winged Greek like figure on each side.

The value is 2 cents, and mailed up to an ounce letter, much like the Forever stamp today, which costs 73 cents.

It’s part of a larger set of stamps that commemorate the modern transportation vehicles of the day. It is formally known to stamp collectors as Scott 295.

Scott is the standard value guide for all United States stamps. The current value of this stamp is only $16. Imagine owning this piece of history over 120 years old.
