These are the most common stamps that people inquire about when seeking a stamp appraisal. Unfortunately with commonality, comes no value.

While some of these stamps are over 100 years old, they were printed in the billions (with a B), and likely over a million copies still exist today. These stamps are found in every childhood and hobbyist collection for this exact reason.

Regardless of what you read or see online, these stamp designs are common and have NO VALUE. While it is true there are some very rare versions of these designs, the majority are accounted for and certified. The vast majority of stamps in these designs are the common versions, in which they printed billions of copies.

This is not a complete list of stamps with no value. It is just the some of the most common stamp designs that have no value. There are thousands of more stamps from around the world, even from the 1800’s, that are common and have no resale value.

While there are some rare examples of these stamps, the likelihood that you have one of the rare versions of these stamps without a certificate of authenticity is nearly 0%. You are nearly 100% likely to have the common version that looks exactly the same, and is worth $0.

First Day Covers

These are envelopes with stamps on them, postmarked on the day they were issued. They were created for specifically for stamp collectors, making them a novelty item.

They sold them by the millions. Today they aren’t even worth enough to cover shipping, and are regularly given away stamp shows or sold for a few dollars per pound — even ones almost 100 years old!
