A Grade? Is it a reprint?

I inherited a bunch of stamps from my wife’s family.  This was in the album but on the reprint page.  How can you tell it was a reprint and what do you think it would grade at?

This is not a reprint. This is a Scott #1. It appears authentic with a red circular date stamp and pen cancelations. Looks to be four margins just riding along the top. If there are not thins or creases I’d value this around $200. If there are faults it could go down from there, and quite significantly depending on the severity of the faults.

I could tell this was not a reprint firstly from it’s color. Scott #3 looks more orange and is not as dark. Also the impression is not as sharp as Scott #3.

And lastly because it’s used. Scott #3 is was not postally issued. There are some genuinely used examples, but the vast majority are unused. There are signals in the design itself that can distinguish a #1 from a #3 but I did not need to rely on those in this case due to what I mentioned.
