Thanks for dropping by to see my used R152E used on part of a bank check.
In this case the bank check was cancelled in 1880 in New Orleans, LA.
The cancel is incomplete but reads Jan 3 (not sure it’s really the 3rd,) 1880. It appears to be G. Dewood (but there might be one or two additional letter between G. & Dewood, but I’m unable to make them out.)

I have had good results by uploading an image and running their program. It has help me in the past to see what can’t necessarily be seen outright or is obscured by other markings.
