PSE or Crowe could not identify this proof By Ryan Joneson 2 years ago |

@ryanjoneson – nice proof, quite pristine in appearance, I couldn't even venture a guess. I'd hold on to it, you never know if someone out there has an epiphany on it.
I would bounce it off on the guys at USPCS, via their forum – USPCS — U.S. Philatelic Classics Society
They have an awesome Philatelic Collective of individuals who may have an idea of what you have there.

Thanks for your response. I suppose it will live in the "O" of EFO collecting for now.

I was just checking my Scott Specialized US to try and figure out what this could be. If it were on India paper, this would be a 70TC3. Now some India paper proofs come mounted on card (which would make a cut-down 70TC1ap or 70TC2b a possibility). It's not entirely crazy that someone might have done this, if the larger piece was toned or damaged in some way. But I'm sure you know what "India on card" looks like and so do the expertizers, so we can assume it's not that. So I'm just as mystified, except for being able to say it doesn't look fake, nor like a color changeling.
The person who would have known what this is Richard Champagne (who is still listed online as an expertizer, but in fact passed away last year, at 97). 15 years ago (when I still lived in NYC and Richard still had a stamp show table) I'd bring any weirdo US stuff down to a show for him to look at. He always knew what I had.

@jblaha Thanks for the reply, the issue is I really dont know what is of value, I have taken some pictures and did the ebay search with the images, and some come up with such variable pricing, as little as 1.00 and as much as 1000.00, what is a reputable way to get good feedback or value. The images is very small group, I would roughly say well over 1500 stamps maybe more than 2000, I just have not been able to work through them all. I appreciate your feedback.

Nice gathering of stamps you have there. However, i do not see any of great value, though what you have shown is a good dive into the deep end of a fine start up collection.
Hope your inspired to dive back into the hobby – its quite fulfilling.

Greetings, New to this forum, just located an old collection that my grandmother helped me with back the 70s and 80s and I kind of lost interest but she kept my books and her books with stamps back to the early 1900s, I inherited the collections that is vast with 80% used stamps and about 20% new stamps some still in sheets.
I am having trouble finding someone local to help me assess the value of this collection and was hoping to get some help here to work through this. As I stated it is vast, about 3 books worth of stamp that have been hinged and about 10 envelopes of used and new stamps never hinged mix of new and used or cancelled stamps and 1 large folder full of new sheets of stamps.
I have attached some images here to give an idea of the collection.
Please let me know what you think and if anyone can tell me best resource to get value assessment for this collection.
I can post or send more images if someone would be willing to assist me in this project.
Appreciate the help in advance
Dennis
