I have a red Washington 2 cent stamp (see attached). I notice it has 2 different triangle ornaments in each of the upper left and upper right corners. I’ve been unable to find any red Washington 2 cent stamps like this.
Can anyone tell me why these elements are different and how this may affect the value of the stamp?
This looks to be the result of underinking at the top right corner. This means there was not enough ink on the plate to press a clear impression. Minor underinking like this example does not effect the value at all. In more dramatic cases, it can be considered an EFO (error, freak, or oddity), and increase in value.

I agree that this looks like an under inking issue. From my experience, it seems somewhat common for this issue.
