I have a collection of about 60 envelopes commemorating the launch of WW II warships. I am enclosing a few examples and wondering about their value.

These are very nice philatelic items, looks like the beginnings of a sweet collection.

As US Naval Veteran, I myself love these types of covers and have a number of them myself.

Not sure of their value, but I’d love to know whether you have a Launching cover for USS Charleston LKA113.  I served as a Boiler Technician upon this ship, which was a “Gator Freighter”.  We carried armament, fuel, and personnel.

@jblaha

Thanks for your comment. I will check if LKA113 is in my collection … and if it is, it is yours as it is a lot more meaningful to you than with me.

@fabiop WWII illustrated covers generally go around $10-$20 ea. However some can go for much more depending on the design. Also any significant postal markings, dates, or notable people can also add value.

@ryanjoneson Ryan, thanks for the information. Maybe the envelopes with the  red graphic: Remember Pearl Harbor may be more valuable?

One more question: all the envelopes are addressed to the same person and still have the original letters. Is the fact that the envelopes are addressed a negative regarding value?

Some have the military censor stamp indicating that they were opened. I do appreciate any additional information.

They are worth more if genuinely used during period usage, instead of unused stationary. Unless the person is famous there is no impact of value if they are all sent to the same person. Original letters, if historically significant can bring a premium.
